#17: Annie

Annie (1982)

The sun will come out tomorrow? Well, tomorrow has finally come. It is officially today and we are ready to break into song and dance with guest Laurel Koepf-Taylor, assistant professor of Old Testament at Eden Theological Seminary, as we examine John Huston's 1982 movie, Annie.

In this episode, Laurel leads us through discussions of children in scripture, Child-labor laws, and the power of a little girl to interrupt capitalism. We also explore what Annie has to do with the lectionary week of Year C, Ordinary 16, July 17th.

It's a hard knock life, people, but we've got Annie. So before you preach this Sunday, come and get a dose of optimism from your friends at Technicolor Jesus.

Finally, Matt and Adam will be taking a short hiatus before returning with new guests and movies in September. If you have any suggestions on guests or movies, send us an email at technicolorjesuspodcast@gmail.com.
